About Bio
Arthur Baxter Frost is the founding partner and principal of the Akuma Fusion Group, an international design firm specializing in holistic designs for the built environment. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Certificate of Completion from the San Francisco Institute of Architecture for the summer program at Taliesin West, and his Masters in Architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design.Baxter's career in art and architecture and spans over fifteen years. He has been involved in over 100 projects ranging from master planning to design/build and has shown original art work in several galleries, creating over 250 private works. He has won several awards for his works, in both Architecture and Art.Baxter's work is concept driven to further explore the idea that Design is a catalyst for solutions that can address any given situation. The belief that design is universal is clearly demonstrated in the range of projects and his holistic approach.
Vision
For the past several years Baxter's creative work can be described as the exploration of spatial intelligence and the metaphysical nature of introspection. It’s important to ask questions like “What is out there?” And “What is it like?” These questions help define our existence and hope to understand our potential through inter connections that define our actions. All actions are distinct and yet empirically linked to a multitude of others defining a space, spaces within spaces, and spaces within a volume(s). New experiences are built from our actions within space and form and new associations are created once time and movement are introduced strengthening the perpetual layering of spaces within volumes. The interpretations differ from each person as they draw from their personal intellect, encouraging an insight in the relationship between form and thought.Practically applied; any issue can be better understood through interactions and it’s components offering more opportunity to alter and guide particular outcomes.
